Apple is set to pay up to $20 per device to users affected by alleged Siri eavesdropping! 
In a recent class action lawsuit, Apple agreed to a $95 million settlement over claims that Siri recorded conversations without consent and shared this data with advertisers. The lawsuit dates back to 2019 when it was revealed that contractors were listening to private Siri recordings. 
Who can claim? If you owned an Apple device with Siri between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024, and experienced unintentional activations where private conversations were recorded, you might be eligible! Just remember to file your claim before May 15, 2025. 
How much can you get? Each eligible user can claim $20 per device, up to five devices, potentially totaling $100! But keep in mind that some of the settlement money will go to legal fees. 
Apple denies any wrongdoing and is settling to avoid further litigation costs, which could have been as high as $1.5 billion if they lost. 
For those concerned about privacy, you can disable Siri in your device settings. Apple has made data collection opt-in only since 2019, increasing users’ control over their information.
