The City of Horizon and Centennial Lions Club are delighted to invite you and/or your organization to participate in the 2023 Christmas Tree Lighting, Float Contest, and Christmas Parade. This annual event is a great opportunity to showcase your creativity and support the community.
Event Details:
– Float Contest: December 1, 2022, at 6:00 PM
– Judging begins at Oz Glaze Senior Citizen Center, 13969 Veny Webb, Horizon City, TX
– Trophies for 1st “Pride of the Parade,” 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded
– Tree Lighting: December 1, 2022, at 7:00 PM
– Hot chocolate and goodies will be served
– Christmas Parade: December 2, 2022, at 10:00 AM
– Staging begins at 8:30 AM (refer to the map for instructions)
– Participants will receive their parade entry number and Participant Packet at the mandatory parade participant meeting
Mandatory Parade Participant Meetings:
– 1st meeting: Friday, November 17, 2023, at 7:00 PM
– 2nd meeting: Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 10:00 AM
– 3rd meeting: Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 4:00 PM
– All meetings will take place at the Oz Glaze Senior Center, 13969 Veny Webb, Horizon City, TX 79928
Performance Opportunity:
– Choirs, bands, dance groups, cheerleaders, karate, or other performers are invited to participate in the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Please contact Judi at (915) 581-2994 for more information.
Vendor Opportunities:
– The Parade Committee is seeking vendors along the parade route. Vendors are required to purchase a $25 vendor permit, with each additional permit costing $10. For more information, please contact Judi at (915) 581-2994.
Sponsorship Opportunity:
– Sponsorship opportunities are available, and any monetary donation over $200 will have the donor's name placed on the Parade Sponsor Banner displayed during the parade route. Please refer to the attached form or contact Judi at (915) 581-2994 for more information.
