National Night Out is a community event in the United States that enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.
The introduction of National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime”, in 1984 began an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. NATW’s National Night Out program culminates annually, on the first Tuesday of August. (In Texas, the first Tuesday of October).
This event provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive and neutral circumstances. Anyone is welcome to show up and enjoy free music, food, and a variety of law enforcement vehicles from different agencies in our region. Come and enjoy the festivities while enhancing the relationship between the community and their law enforcement partners.
