Live Active El Paso Hike-A-Thon

Anyone who loves trails and the outdoors is invited to participate in the Live Active El Paso Hike-A-Thon series that starts this Saturday and runs through October at various trails and trailheads.

The series will run every other Saturday.

All hikes are beginner-friendly and no registration is required. Participants will be given a Hiking Passport, and if they complete four of the hikes they will receive a prize. An additional prize will be given to participants who complete all six hikes.

Hiking Schedule (Six Hikes):

All hikes begin at 8 a.m.

• August 6: Jan Sumrall Memorial Trailhead, 1105 Thunderbird Dr.
• August 20: Roundhouse Trailhead, Franklin Mountains State Park along Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
• September 3: McKelligon Canyon, McKelligon Canyon Road
• September 17: Billy Rogers Arroyo Park, 700 E Robinson Ave
• October 1: Thousand Steps Trailhead, North Stanton St. to the Wyler Aerial Tramway and Ranger Peak
• October 16: Scenic Drive Scenic Sundays, West Entrance on Rim Rd

Participants should wear sturdy shoes, sun protection, weather-appropriate clothing and bring plenty of water.
