*ANNOUNCEMENT* #RescueRunners MUTT-ATHON will be taking place on April 30th, from 8am-6pm. Our goal for this event is to run/walk EVERY adoptable dog at the El Paso Animal Services shelter. The number of dogs at the shelter in recent months has been in the 600-700 range. We are limited to 75 participants for each hour, but runners & walkers can sign up for as many hour slots as they would like, starting at 8am until the shelter closes at 6pm. All volunteer participants will receive refreshments & raffle entry for prizes from community sponsors. Participants will also get to take a “Race Day” Finisher’s photo with their running buddy. Please encourage your friends & family to come out and volunteer for a run or walk with a shelter dog. Special “Go Home Goodie Bags” will also be available for any adopters! This event is not only to benefit the shelter dogs with much needed exercise, but also to bring awareness to the public of how many animals are in the care of the shelter, and to promote adoption & volunteerism in our community.
