I can't sleep. It's hot and humid and I have no AC right now. It's balls hot, if I had balls. 🥵
Because we have had no AC since yesterday and the repair people we called can come on Friday at the earliest, we dropped off the kids at Grandma's and went on an impromptu date at 8 pm. 🍽️
It was to Cedar and Vine, which I've been trying to get to since it opened 6+ months ago. It teases me each time I take my kids to their pediatrician, but the hours are limited from 4 pm to 11 pm M-Sat.
The manager tonight told me they have been trying to open up for brunch but because of lack of workers they haven't been successful, so if you're looking for a job, they're hiring. 👨🍳
The drinks were very refreshing, and made fresh (they literally cut up a watermelon for hubby's drink) and mine was promagranates something (the drinks are strong). 🍉🍹
For my entree, I got the baked Brie with prunes, mushrooms and caramelized onions. The Brie was bubbly hot, gooey, and the sweet and salty flavors melded well together. The waitress saw I was going through the house made toast quickly and kindly brought me more. I couldn't finish it and brought half home with me. It's a very generous portion and a good shared plate, too bad I didn't want to share with hubby. 😂
Thank goodness his steak and blue cheese sandwich on housemade bread was delish! It's definitely sous vide steak since it was so tender. Hubby was nicely surprised since most steak sandwiches tend to be tough and rubbery. 🥪
Service was kind and attentive. Food and drinks were excellent. The decor was warm and elegant, yet inviting. The music choices made us laugh though. They played Metallica's ‘Enter Sandman' and The Ting Ting's ‘That's Not My Name'. 🤷♀️
We'll be back though, it's a great little place with a lot of flavor, and we hope to try other dishes. 🤤
