I was invited to the Resolution of Commissioners Court to honor Marissa’s contributions to the El Paso community, but I woke up coughing and didn’t want to risk spreading anything. 
So, I watched the County YouTube channel live as they adopted a resolution celebrating her outstanding achievements that have brought significant acclaim to our community. 
At the age of 71, Marissa competed in this year’s Miss Texas USA pageant, making her the oldest contestant ever to grace the stage in Houston! 
As Marissa says, “Beauty is not just on the outside, but it’s on the inside also.” 
And in her case, this is absolutely true! She works hard in her training and eats right, which clearly shows.

Her youthful spirit is truly inspiring. What’s even more impressive is how kind and helpful she is, guiding a newbie like me on how to work out correctly.
