Stay Cool This Summer: El Paso’s Cooling Centers are Open!
Extreme Heat Alert! 🌡️ Triple-Digit Temperatures Ahead
From June 5-7, El Paso will experience scorching temperatures. To ensure everyone stays safe and cool, the City of El Paso is opening cooling centers across the city.
Let’s Look Out for Each Other
During this heatwave, it’s essential to check on our older neighbors, friends, and family members. Make sure they have a cool place to stay and plenty of water to drink. 💛
Cooling Centers
These air-conditioned facilities provide a comfortable and free place to cool down:
June 5-7 (9 AM – 8 PM):
- Galatzan Recreation Center (650 Wallenberg)
- Marty Robbins Recreation Center (11620 Vista del Sol)
- Valle Bajo Community Center (7380 Alameda)
- Nations Tobin Sports Center (8831 Railroad)
- Chalio Acosta Sports Center (4321 Delta)
City Public Libraries
For those who enjoy reading, the City Public Libraries are another excellent place to stay cool:
- Wednesday and Thursday: 10 AM – 7 PM
- Friday: 1 PM – 6 PM 📚
Additional Cooling Centers (June 15 – August 15)
Starting June 15, El Paso County will open additional cooling centers daily from 9 AM to 6 PM (closed June 19 & July 4).
