El Paso is not growing the way it should. A small group of rich people control everything here. They control the government, the news, and how things are decided. If you speak out against them, they make sure you’re left out.

Look at KVIA— they showed the mayor in a negative light, and now they’re getting shut out. The people in charge of our city’s PR money only help those who agree with them. If you ask questions or disagree, you get ignored. And trust me, I know this firsthand.

I’ve been left out of events and not included in news coverage just because I’m not part of the “in” group. But those are OUR tax dollars. They belong to everyone, not just a few people.

The problem is not just about money or growth— it’s about who gets to decide what happens in El Paso. The same group of people has all the power, while the rest of us get nothing. This is about who you know, not what you know. It’s frustrating because in other cities, there’s more balance. But here? The power stays with the same people.

I love El Paso, and the people here are amazing.
But we all deserve better. Our money and resources should help everyone, not just a few people. We need to start asking, “Where is all the money really going?” Will it help all of us or just a few people at the top?

I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. If we don’t speak up, good people will keep leaving El Paso because of corruption and fear. Enough is enough.
