Eastridge Lights Tradition

December 1, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - January 3, 2023 @ 10:00 pm

Free

The residents of the Eastside subdivision of Eastridge participates each year in an elaborate neighborhood-wide holiday lights display.

Lights are usually lit around the first week of December, and run through the holiday season.

Peak times are weekends, usually from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

During the week, there is less traffic.

There are three entrances to Eastridge to help people navigate the area. Here's a MAP:

#1 entrance is McRae at Cartway. Traffic will often back up from Cartway down to I-10 and can take up to an hour to enter the neighborhood at that entrance

#2 is at Deby Lewis at Glemmway; this is right behind Eastwood High School

#3 is at Wedgewood at Fenway

There's also a good street to park and walk thru the neighborhood highlighted in blue. We're gonna try to walk it this year since the decorations are more fabulous up close and personal. We'll be bringing some lights (since there are a lot of cars and we don't want to get hit) and hot cocoa.

The neighborhood is about a mile around. If you add in the inner streets it’s less than a 2 mile walk.

**Eastridge residents sometimes drive down the middle of the street with their lights on to get home. Please be respectful and let them come home in a timely manner.**

Some Tips:

-Pee before. Seriously, we had to end our drive early because we all were waiting about 45 mins to just get in the neighborhood.
-Bundle the kids up, the windows will be down to see and hear and it's cold, even in the car.
-Respect the neighbors and be courteous, there will be line cutters, but hey it's the holidays and a free event. You'll get your turn, don't be a Grinch and ruin it for everyone else by honking or causing a ruckus.
-Blast the holiday music and watch the kiddies light up at the sight of the festive lights.
