Good news, El Paso! The Fort Bliss and Westside tax offices will reopen on March 12, after being unexpectedly closed on March 1 due to staffing shortages and new state regulations affecting auto dealers.
Tax Assessor-Collector Ruben P. Gonzalez admitted that the closures hurt taxpayers and acknowledged that better planning was needed. While it’s great to see these offices reopening, shouldn’t these challenges have been addressed beforehand?
