How inspiring is it that in El Paso, with the unwavering support of locals, dreams can become reality?
This is why I love supporting local businesses instead of chains!

Meet Ramon Parada, the passionate owner of Glia’s Coffee Co.
With just $1,200 and facing homelessness, he took a bold step to create something special. Using his limited funds, he bought a used truck, a trailer, and an espresso machine, all while honoring his late father’s love for coffee.

Glia’s started as a coffee trailer parked near Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2023, filling a gap for students and healthcare professionals desperately in need of caffeine.
Fast forward to today, and Glia’s has expanded to a popular brick-and-mortar location at the Eat Up Cafeteria and recently opened at the County Courthouse!

Ramon’s journey hasn’t been easy. After losing his father three years ago, he channeled his grief into creating a community hub for delicious coffee and local flavors. His mother even offered to sell her house to help him get started!

Now, as he balances running Glia’s with his aspirations of becoming a physician, Ramon remains committed to keeping the business local and personal. He sources ingredients locally and even makes syrups and baked goods in-house!

Have you tried Glia’s unique El Paso-flavored lattes or their amazing pastries? What’s your go-to order? Let’s continue to support our local gems like Glia’s Coffee Co.!
