Multi-Million Dollar bond for Renovations for El Paso County Coliseum fails.

🚨 A recent attempt to push a multi-million dollar bond for renovations at the El Paso County Coliseum back to voters has fallen flat. County Commissioner David Stout’s proposal for a May ballot was met with silence from his colleagues, leaving our coliseum untouched and taxpayer money unspent. 😟
Stout is disappointed, saying we might have to start over if we wait too long. The bond was initially proposed last November but was narrowly rejected by just 668 votes.
Commissioner Iliana Holguin rightly pointed out that revisiting this bond so soon sends the wrong message to voters. Commissioner Sergio Coronado also reminded everyone that it’s the public who decides on these matters.
While some believe renovations could turn the coliseum into a premier venue for events, many, including Max Grossman, have criticized this attempt to reintroduce the bond as “the most anti-democratic, un-American and tyrannical money grab” ever proposed. 💰
What do you think, El Paso? Is it time to respect the voters’ decision and move on? Let’s hear your thoughts! 👇
