New Mail Trucks are coming…

When are we going to get these new vehicles? I’d love to take a peep at them! 🐤🚚✨
USPS is rolling out a new generation of mail trucks that some say look a bit quirky (like ducks or platypus! 🦆), but there’s a lot more to these designs than meets the eye.
The Next Generation Delivery Vehicles (NGDVs) are set to enhance safety and efficiency for our mail carriers. With their tall, boxy shape, they provide better visibility on the road and feature advanced safety technology, including collision avoidance systems and 360-degree cameras. 📸
Comfort is also a priority! Drivers will enjoy air conditioning, a spacious walk-in cargo area, and a lower chassis for easier access. Plus, these vehicles are environmentally friendly, coming in fuel-efficient and electric options! 🌱🔋
USPS plans to begin rolling out 106,480 new delivery vehicles, including at least 60,000 NGDVs, which started in June 2024, although there have been some delays. These trucks will be assembled in South Carolina and are designed to handle the increasing volume of mail and packages while enhancing delivery capabilities and modernizing operations.
What do you think about this new design? Are you excited to see these in our neighborhoods? Share your thoughts! 👇💬
