Hi there!
Does your kid LOVE Pokemon? Do they have friends that are playing the game but your kiddo is having trouble learning or not sure where to start? This is the event for you!
While our Thursday night Pokemon tends to bring out kids 16+, college kids and adults young at heart, we try and hold these monthly PokeKids days so that kids 12 and under can socialize and meet other kids their age. We have a handful of employees and volunteers ready to help teach the game.
Pokemon is not just wildly popular, it has helped kids with basic math, phonetic reading, and game etiquette like “your turn, my turn” and graceful winners & losers.
The event is free, we ask the kids bring out all their cards because we also teach them how to care for their cards, (sleeves, binders, *no rubber bands*, etc) if they don't have a deck built, we will try and piece one together with their cards, but generally it's easiest to buy a pre-built one.
**Since most kids are in school again, but most are unvaccinated. We ask all participants wear masks, and use hand sanitizer before and after each match.*
